Meet Salem!

Meet Salem!

While the shelter fills with tiny kittens who quickly find their forever families, Salem patiently watches them leave, wondering when it will finally be his turn. He has now been waiting since March for someone to choose him.

Salem is more than just another shelter cat, he’s one of our favorites around the shelter. Everyone who meets him falls in love with his gentle, affectionate personality. He greets staff and volunteers with purrs and loves attention, and he’s especially wonderful with all of our kid volunteers. He’s the kind of cat who makes everyone smile.

Salem has also shown that he does well with dogs when introduced properly, making him a great fit for many families.

During his stay, Salem has had a dental procedure and hernia repair surgery, and he’s feeling better than ever. He’s neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and ready to head home today.

Salem is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but don’t let that discourage you. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy, happy lives with routine veterinary care, good nutrition, and lots of love. FIV is primarily spread through deep bite wounds, so Salem would do best as an only cat or with another FIV+ cat.

Even better - Salem’s adoption fee has been completely sponsored! That means all that’s missing is someone willing to open their heart and home to this incredible boy.

More than anything, Salem dreams of a warm bed, a sunny window, and a family to call his own. He’s watched kitten after kitten leave the shelter while he continues to wait. We know his perfect family is out there, we just need them to see him.

Please help us share Salem’s story so his forever family can finally find him.
